When
Lizzy Graham isn’t out partnering with Detroit’s leaders, marketing and creative teams, and change-makers to get them stellar creative talent, you’ll find her on her quest to locate the world’s largest jar of Nutella.

It’s out there, Lizzy. It’s out there!

Jokes aside, our business development manager loves nothing better than working with her clients and being a key part of the amazing revitalization of Detroit.

Regardless of where you live (or how you feel about chocolate-hazelnut spread), you need to check out her answers to our 7 Quick Questions!

  1. What’s your favorite interview question? I borrowed this one right after I heard it: "Pitch [company name] to me as if I were interested in buying your product/service." It’s a great way to find out how much research a candidate has done prior to the interview and what they understand about the business. It helps to reveal how well they think on the fly, too!
  2. What most excites you about your work & the contribution you make? Over the past five years I've seen some of the most memorable and impactful projects/campaigns accomplished through the amazing work of our talent. I love seeing our talents’ growth, their ongoing development, and their excitement when we find them amazing projects and opportunities. I also love the feedback I get from my clients. It’s a great feeling when they share the immense impact our talent has made on their business or brand.
  3. What’s one question a candidate should ask in a job interview? "May I have a quick tour of your space?" The worst the employer could do is say no, but in my many years here at Vitamin T, I've never had a client say no when our talent asks for a tour. Getting a tour gives a candidate the perfect opportunity to meet additional decision-makers, managers, and employees. Ultimately it could really help leverage the likelihood of receiving a job offer.
  4. What’s one important skill every person should have? Adaptability! In the face of an ever-changing world of work, technological advancements, and applied strategies, it’s those who embrace new ideas and are proactive in handling new circumstances, that are incredibly appealing to employers. Being open-minded to change and new situations can help foster individual AND team growth. Whatever your position may be—CEO, art director, hiring manager, or copywriter—I think the ability to adapt is fundamental.
  5. If you could have dinner with one person living or dead, who would it be and why? Richard Branson! For his entrepreneurial success, his ongoing pursuit of adventure, and his humanitarian work. I'd love to just sit down with him and learn how he balances it all. I'd ask what he looks for in members of his team and collaborators; how he chooses to pursue certain business ideas or initiatives over others; how he overcomes tough decisions and the main factors he considers before moving forward with a plan. I think you could learn a great deal about business strategy from Sir Branson. Plus, you’d get to hear some amazing stories about his adventures in space to boot!
  6. What tech innovation has most impacted your life? Hmmm... it would be a toss-up between YouTube and Wikipedia. They've both helped spearhead and define the value of user-generated content and the purpose of archiving that content on a global scale. Plus, I'm a big film and video enthusiast, so both of these platforms come in super handy when I want to research the writing, concepting, or production qualities of a moving image.
  7. What do you love about working with creative talent? When the right match is made and I get to see the initial embryo of an idea come to life through the dedication and hard work of our talent. From concept to final execution, I love when my clients say how impressed and amazed they are by the work they do. It's a great feeling to know the impact our talent make within the marketing and creative departments of so many diverse sectors!
